"All About Me
Now then, guys!
I am a 20 year old gal, but I like to pretend that I am seven or eight: life is so much more fun that way! While I am a good gal and all that, I often do stuff for shits and giggles. Some people (um, my parents) think I am childish for liking the things I do.
Like going for walks in the rain. No - not walks. Because I leap in the rain (or the puddles, to be more precise). I also love going out for walks in the middle of the night. I don't mind what day of the week it is - when it is quiet, I love the peace, when there are drunks about I like the entertainment. It's a hobby that I have truly come to appreciate in the past year or so, since I have had lots of other people close by willing to come with me.

I am a proud Yellowbelly, is the first thing I want to say! For people who are going "Yellowbelly? Huh?" A Yellowbelly is someone born and raised in Lincolnshire, UK. For the first 18 years of my life, I lived in Boston. I am now in Derby (I am studying Creative Writing), but I still consider Lincolnshire to be home. Not one for big cities, me; I was brought up in the countryside and it is in my blood.

As well as being proud to be a Yellowbelly, I am also a proud Brit. Even if our government is absolutely appalling. I have no idea what I am going to do when it comes around to voting time: Labour do not deserve another term, but I can't stand the Tories, either. I wouldn't have much faith in the Lib Dems either, to be frank.

Anyway - enough of stupid politics!

I love English, and am a total literature geek. I'm not ashamed to admit it; it is what makes me who I am (along with my pretty no-nonsence attitude about manners and my strong opinions). I love Shakespeare, and was so incredibly disappointed that I wasn't able to go see David Tennant (my favourite actor) in 'Hamlet' or 'Love's Labour's Lost', even though I was on holiday in the Cotswolds at the time.

My journal

It probably aint gonna be interesting, to be honest. I'm thinking it'll be mostly memes, ranting on about things that mean very little to you guys, Doctor Who, and Red Dwarf. I'm hoping that sometime in the not too distant future, I'll gather up the courage to post some of my fic! I'm not into many telly programmes; there's Doctor Who and I'm not watching that after Russell leaves, because I cannot stand the next Head Writer. I am a Doctor/Rose shipper, and although they were occasionally a bit annoying (very occasionally - not as often as the Rose Haters accuse them of being) during series 2...well, they were in love, and lots of couples get a bit like that.

The only other programme I watch has disappeared from the box (at least for the moment): Red Dwarf. I love it to bits. Well...I love series 1-5, anyway. Rimmer is my favourite character - I can't hate him like so many people do, because I always think that he needs a hug. I always want to punch Lister, Kryten and the Cat at the end of Terrorform: they made him all happy and helped him get over his demons...then as soon as they were free they dumped him in the metaphorical crap again.

Doctor Who
While I am no longer the Doctor Who obsessed fan I was a couple of years ago, I still enjoy it. Mostly, anyway. Well...I am stopping watching it after Moffat takes over because I always want to destroy things after watching some of his stuff.

Favourite characters:
- The Doctor. I can't make up my mind which incarnation, but it's definitely between 9 and 10. I love them both.
- Rose Tyler. Okay, so she was like a different character in the second series, but I still adore her. She is my fave companion, without a shadow of a doubt.
- Donna Noble. The only thing to say here is DONNA IS BRILLIANT!
- Jackie Tyler. Aw, how I miss the Tyler crew :(. I loved Wilf, but Jackie was something else.

Favourite episodes and serials:
Classic:
I have only seen some Doctor 1 and Doctor 5, so they'd have to be:
Kinda Takes a while for something to actually happen, but brilliant. The best classic I've seen.
Earthshock Don't know why, actually. Probably because it got rid of Adric.

NuWho:
Don't make me choose! None from series 3, though (I like happy, dammit!), and as Doomsday and Journey's End make me CRY EVERY BLOODY TIME I WATCH THEM, they probably don't make the list, either.

Beta

I wouldn't mind giving people a hand if I have enough time - if you want my help, drop me an email and I'll tell you if I can fit you in around my very busy schedule (ha bloody ha. Busy? What's that?).
I am good with Brit picking (which, seeing as I live in Britain, I should be decent at), my spelling and grammar is quite good, but I sorta fall on my arse when it comes to giving out concrit. I hate reading serious angst and babyfic, so probably not a good idea to ask me to do anything with them.

Friends

I keep my fannish posts open to everyone to see, but as the vast majority of my posts at the moment have nothing to do with Doctor Who or Red Dwarf, lots of my posts will be f-locked. Feel free to add me if you want!
